Basic tips for caring for your Kitchen Counter

When it comes to Kitchen (and Bathroom) countertops there are some basic tips whether you have laminate, tile, or granite.  For one thing, water and a soft cloth can do the trick for most routine cleaning.   Don’t leave spills that can stain (all surfaces can stain) and avoid placing hot pots and pans directly on the counter.  Whether you rent or own you want it to look good, right?

Vinegar, the versatile cleaner!

We all know that vinegar is good for cleaning up and freshening up, but take a look at all these 1001 tips to use vinegar for other cleaning purposes.  Some will seem familiar and even obvious, once you read them.  Here are a couple that stood out to me: Remove soap buildup and odors from the dishwasher, remove mineral deposits from coffee makers, and discourage ants. Lemons make more than lemonade!

I ran across this article on how lemons can be used to rid your home of paint fumes.  That led me to Google other household uses for lemons and voilá I found this article on the 10 ways to use lemons around the house.  I am sure many of us have used lemons for lightening our hair, cleaning our hands and freshening garbage disposals, but there are 7 other uses that are pretty cool.
